Tomorrow means that I leave for Spain in a week, I have started slowly putting together a pile of things I'm bringing along with me. It's funny, last year, when I was preparing for Scotland, I'm pretty sure my suitcase was packed and ready to go a week out. I guess it shows how much more comfortable I am with this whole traveling thing. When I'm not worrying about packing, I'm using google earth. I love going to street view and "walking" the streets of the city around the Universitat de Barcelona. I don't know where my host family lives, otherwise I'd be looking that up too. Beyond that, I'm pretty calm. I've done this before. And there was much more to do last year because I wasn't going through a Knox program. I guess it also means I've grown up. I've learned that whatever happens will happen, and I will go along with it until it works itself out. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself, we'll see what actually happens when the first hitch comes my way. I've been busy making a list of everything I have to do in a week. I thought I might as well write it out here.
-Study some Spanish. I stopped taking classes when I chose to finish my minor abroad so, needless to say, I'm a little rusty. The thing that worries me the most about studying abroad this time is the language barrier. Sometimes I have frustrating dreams about it.
-E-mail my contacts. Through family, friends and Kappa I have a list of people who will be in Barcelona at the same time as I am. You can never make too many acquaintances when settling into a new place.
-Pack. In my head I know what I'm taking, now I just have to get it to my suitcase.
-Hang out with my family. I know my Mom has been saying it way less than last year, but I think she's going miss me. I know she doesn't like it when I leave the country.
And that is all I have for my pre departure reflection.
